About Us

Our History

Michael A. Olivieri and Albert Olivieri were born into the Agriculture business. They were raised on a farm in Elmsford, NY. After immigrating from Abruzzi, Italy the Olivieri family ran Elmsford View Farms from the Early 40’s until the late 70’s. Michael and Albert founded Michael and Sons Nurseries, Inc. in 1961. Michael A. Olivieri attended Farmingdale Agricultural College part time while running the Garden Center. Albert and Michael had three sons that continue on the family tradition.

Michael W. Olivieri has a professional degree in landscape architecture from The University of Georgia. He is a licensed Landscape Architect and a Certified Nursery Professional in the State of New York and licensed to practice landscape architecture in the State of Connecticut. He is head of the landscape division at Michael and Sons and practices landscape architecture from a separate landscape architecture firm. Albert Olivieri attended SUNY Cobleskill. He manages our garden center and designs our interior flowering landscapes. Scott Olivieri attended Salve Regina University and is a Certified Nursery Professional in the State of New York. He has held the office of Region 2 President of the New York State Nursery/Landscape Association since the early 90’s. He now runs the Landscape Division along with his brother Michael.

At 74, Michael A. Olivieri has been designing and installing landscapes in Westchester and Fairfield Counties for over 60 years and is still very active in the daily operations.

We are still a mom and pop family business, with our Owners Michael, Carol and Albert always staying involved. Carol Olivieri heads our office operations, since the day we opened, along with Jeanne her sister in law.
